Rossville Consolidated School District announced that Director of Technology Dustin Shadbolt has successfully secured a $20,000 grant from Project Lead the Way to support the launch of an enhanced computer science program at the district to better expand access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics, STEM, education and career pathways.
The grant is intended to allow Rossville Schools to revamp its computer science curriculum to align with upcoming state requirements, covering a full year of curriculum access, materials and training necessary for teacher Royce Huffer to become PLTW-certified. The grant will also provide support for a second computer science course that the school intends to implement in 2026-2026.
“Our goal is to give Rossville students the tools and access they need to compete with larger school districts while still benefiting from our community’s close-knit, supportive environment,” Shadbolt said. “This grant strengthens our focus on STEM education and ensures our students have more opportunities to pursue careers in technology and innovation.”
