FRANKFORT, Ind. — Brendon Bright was officially sworn in as the new Sheriff of Clinton County on Saturday morning following a Republican caucus held after the resignation of the sitting sheriff.
Bright was joined by family, friends, supporters, and members of the community during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Clinton County Annex. The oath of office was administered by Judge Brad Mohler.
Bright, a 23-year law enforcement veteran, will serve the remainder of the current office term through December 31, 2026. He is also the Republican nominee on the ballot in the November 2026 general election and is seeking election to a full term beginning in January 2027.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled by the trust that has been placed in me to serve Clinton County as Sheriff,” said Bright. “This office carries tremendous responsibility, and I am committed to leading with integrity, transparency, and professionalism while supporting the men and women who serve our community every day.”
Throughout his campaign and public service, Bright has emphasized collaboration with county leaders, transparency in operations, support for deputies and staff, and community-focused policing initiatives.
Bright has served Clinton County in multiple law enforcement capacities over the past two decades and stated he is ready to begin the work of leading the department forward.
