On Tuesday, April 9, the Board of Directors of the Clinton County Fairgrounds Historical Society voted to expand its membership by 2, raising the board membership to a total of 7.
Board president Skip Davis said, “We hope to find our new members to represent the Hispanic community.” Davis added, “Each new member will be responsible for transforming our research from English to Spanish. We will do everything possible to provide them with the tools they may need.”
According to Davis, to qualify for one of these positions, applicants should be 21 years of age, bi-lingual in English and Spanish, and have an interest, not only in the history of the fairgrounds, but Clinton County in general.
Davis said, “We, as a board, have brought this project to a point where we need to insure the information we are finding is available to all.
Applicants are asked to send a letter listing their name, address and contact information such as an e-mail or text address; 3 references; and a statement on availability and general interest.
