The United Way for Clinton County Wacky Quacky Duck Derby waddled off at Sapphire Bay in Frankfort on Monday with three ducks speeding across the finish line to secure the top prizes this year.

The Wacky Quacky Duck Derby acts as the summer fundraiser for the United Way as a key piece of the organization’s campaign as community members purchase their racer, a wacky quacky duck, for the race to bring the organization one step closer to its campaign goal. With 769 ducks sold, the race was truly any duck’s game as they sped to the finish line, with the three winners being announced as Tristen Comegys, who received the third-place prize, Christine Smith, who received the second-place prize, and Ana Hernandez, who received the grand prize of $1,000 courtesy of The Farmers Bank.

“Our Wacky Quacky Duck Derby this past Monday was a quack-tastic success,” the organization released. “A big thank you to our sponsors and donors for their generous support with our event. United Way is grateful for everyone who purchased a duck and made this event a hit.”

This year’s Wacky Quacky Duck Derby was supported by The Farmers Bank, The City of Frankfort, Frankfort Parks Department, Kaspar Media, Carol Price and Larry Price, Bauer Family Resources, Frankfort Arni’s, Indiana Beach, Lafayette Aviators and Monster Mini Golf.
