Mark Loeffler, 74, of Frankfort, passed away April 7, 2026 in his home. He was born on November 26, 1951 in LaPorte, Indiana to Ronald Edgar Loeffler Sr. and Lavone (Dietrich) Loeffler.
Mark was a 1970 graduate of LaPorte High School and attended Vincennes University. He served in the United States Marines from 1970 to 1972 and was a Teletype Instructor. He then served from 1972-1976 in the Marine Corps Reserve and was honorable discharged in 1976 as a Corp E-4. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He worked as a Laser Tech Engineer in Silicon Valley, California for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Mark had a good dry sense of humor and loved jokes. He was an avid IU fan, enjoying basketball and the San Jose Sharks Hockey. He loved the outdoors, nature hiking and enjoyed electronics and steam trains.
Surviving are his siblings, Valerie Loeffler of Terre Haute, Stephen (Annette) Loeffler of La Porte, and Julianne (Ernie) Scott of South Bend along with nieces and nephews, Michelle Loeffler, Nicole Loeffler, Bryan Loeffler, Keith Loeffler, Kyle (Joy) Loeffler, Kevin Loeffler, Eric (Abby) Scott, and Alicia (Nate) Darr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Ronald E. Loeffler Jr.
