The Rossville Consolidated School District Board of Education held its regular public meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, addressing a full agenda that included personnel actions, policy updates, and key financial decisions to support students and maintain district operations.
The meeting opened with a special presentation by Mrs. Angie Bogan, followed by routine approvals of January 6, 2026, regular session and Board of Finance meeting minutes, as well as claims and payroll. All routine items were approved unanimously by board members.
Among the personnel items, the Board approved a revised retirement date for Assistant Principal Mike Feagans, moving his official retirement from January 27 to January 29, 2026, due to inclement weather that resulted in recent virtual learning days.
The Board also approved a 2025–2026 Summer School Program to support students who did not pass the IREAD-3 assessment. The program will serve affected third-grade students and select second-grade students identified as at risk. Two qualified teachers will be hired to provide instruction and to proctor required retesting.
Additional personnel approvals included substitute teacher appointments, homebound instruction services for a Rossville Middle/High School student, and coaching recommendations for the Spring 2026 Coed Track & Field season at both the middle and high school levels. All personnel items were approved unanimously.
The Board continued its ongoing partnership with the Indiana School Boards Association to ensure district policies remain current and aligned with state guidance. Several policies received a first reading, addressing topics such as board vacancies, social media use by board members, child abuse and neglect, seclusion and restraint, prepayment of claims, and fixed asset inventory.
A revised Homebound Instruction policy received its second reading and was approved.
The Board approved the purchase of a new 78-passenger conventional school bus through the Central Indiana Educational Service Center cooperative purchasing program. The bus will be purchased from Midwest Transit for $175,768, including the trade-in of an older district bus.
In addition, the Board approved a $100,000 transfer from the Education Fund to the Rainy Day Fund. The transfer is intended to begin rebuilding district reserves following prior use of Rainy Day funds to support the track resurfacing project.
The Board also declared several items of unused equipment surplus or obsolete and authorized their disposal in accordance with Indiana law.
The meeting concluded with conference and field trip reports before the Board voted unanimously to adjourn.
The next regular meeting of the Rossville Consolidated School District Board of Education is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
