Online Complaint Leads To Arrest Of Man For Illegal Trash Dump In Carroll County

An online complaint from a concerned Carroll County resident led to the launch of an investigation and an arrest of a man for an illegal trash dump that occurred in Carroll County.

On July 25, Sheriff Tony Liggett reportedly viewed an online complaint regarding an illegal trash dump along County Road 1050 North just west of Meridian Road in Carroll County that sparked an investigation into the incident.

Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement reportedly investigated the complaint, which led the investigators to locate a suspect in Rockfield who was suspected to have ties to the incident. According to police, the suspect was found to have his driving privileges revoked while also having an outstanding warrant from another county, which led the conservation officers and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies to arrive at the suspect’s residence where they located the suspect and placed him into custody.

“The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the citizen for following up with our agency and wants to thank the Conservation Officers for the follow up and assisting our agency with the investigation,” Liggett released.

No further information regarding the suspect, including his name, have been realized as of 4 p.m. on Friday, July 26.
