First Farmers Bank & Trust has announced its plans to establish its newest branch in Boone County pending all state and federal approvals to continue its operations as one of the top 15 largest Indiana chartered banks.

The bank announced that a new branch may be established in Lebanon pending state and federal approvals to accompany the growing economic sphere of Lebanon. First Farmers Vice President, Senior Commercial and Ag Leader and Board of Directors member for the Boone County Economic Development Corporation Rick Isenhower shared more about the decision to expand into Boone County.

“Lebanon is growing and thriving, so we saw a real need for a local, trusted community bank in the area,” Isenhower said. “We look forward to fostering longstanding relationships with new and current customers alike, while serving the community through our continued commitment to heart and grit banking.”

The new branch is expected to be implemented into the Lebanon Gateway Shops complex at the intersection of State Road 32 and Interstate 65. The branch architect, K4 Architecture, acts as the architectural firm that is also designing the new First Farmers Bank & Trust branch opening in Carmel later this year. First Farmers President and CEO Mark Holt expanded upon Isenhower’s thoughts regarding the possible introduction of the branch to Lebanon.

“Expanding our newest bank branch into Lebanon and the surrounding Boone County area was an easy choice for our team,” Holt said. “We are eager for this new opportunity to provide our services to local Lebanon customers–as well as those in Montgomery and Hendricks County–while remaining true to our agricultural roots as a community bank.”

The bank expects for the branch to open in late quarter four of 2024, marking it as the bank’s 38th location across Indiana and Eastern Illinois. First Farmers Senior Vice President and Director of Communications and Public Relations Tade Powell commented further about the enthusiasm the leaders of the bank share with the new branch.

“Lebanon and the surrounding area fall directly in line with our goal and strategic vision of growing the bank,” Powell said. “We recognize the massive economic development underway across Central Indiana, and being a part of this growth is very exciting as 2025 will mark our 140th year in business.”
