The regional event brought together school board members and superintendents from across Indiana for an informative session highlighting key outcomes from the 2026 legislative session. ISBA representatives provided important updates on newly passed legislation, policy implications, and emerging legal developments, including recent court rulings that may impact school corporations statewide. The session served as a valuable opportunity for both new and experienced board members to deepen their understanding of governance and compliance in today’s educational landscape.
In addition to legislative updates, the evening celebrated outstanding leadership and service through the ISBA’s Exemplary Governance Awards (EGA) program. These awards recognize school board members and boards who have demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development, effective governance, and student success.
Delphi Community School Corporation was proudly recognized for multiple achievements:
- Level 1 – DCSC Board of School Trustees
- Level 2 – Zach Owen
- Level 3 – Mike Priest and Gil Smith
- Level 4 – Kirk Schwarzkopf
Each level reflects increasing dedication to ongoing training and leadership excellence, with Level 4 representing the highest distinction in the program.
“These recognitions are a testament to the commitment our board members have to continuous growth and strong governance,” said Dr. Pamela Moore, Superintendent of Delphi Community School Corporation. “Their dedication directly supports our mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities for every student.”
The evening underscored the importance of staying informed, engaged, and committed to best practices in school leadership. As DCSC continues to move forward with its strategic vision, participation in events like the ISBA Spring Dinner Meeting ensures that district leaders remain well-equipped to serve students, staff, and the community.
DCSC extends its congratulations to all award recipients and appreciation to ISBA for providing meaningful opportunities to support and celebrate school leadership across Indiana.
