Change is in the air at the Clinton County Family YMCA, and with that means new fitness equipment.
The new Nautilus functional equipment will feature the most up-to-date technology available and will be backed by a maintenance agreement to keep everything running smoothly. In addition, members will see updated weight benches, resistance bands, dumbbells, and other accessories throughout the facility to match the updates in the fitness center. The updates will arrive December 20 – 23, 2022, and with it a new floor plan for an ideal route for all who take part in fitness activities.
“I could go on and on about the pride I have for my team and the teams at Core Health & Fitness and NuStep. Not only did Key, our Personal Trainer, and Mo, our Programs Director, work tirelessly to coordinate a floor plan and programs that will be a result of the new equipment, but Key also has been setting aside a portion of his income monthly towards the purchase as a donation back to the Y. They both believe wholeheartedly in the Y and its mission to serve our community. Our controller, Karin, crunched numbers and provided the board with a strong financial picture of what this purchase does for ongoing operations. Adam at Core Health & Fitness worked diligently to bring pricing to a highly competitive level, find discounts and promotions we could utilize to get this entire purchase to a place we were comfortable with. We cannot forget the local partner that also helped to make this possible: The Farmers Bank. They have been patient with us as we have worked with them over the past couple of years, and being able to deliver a partnership result like this is especially exciting. I am thrilled to bring a fresh face to the Y with this purchase,” mentioned Stephanie during a recent conversation.
This was all made possible because of a chance encounter. During a visit to a CEO conference, Stephanie met a representative from Core Health & Fitness (Adam) who quickly became a professional friend. Core Health & Fitness is one of the main suppliers of health and fitness equipment to YMCAs throughout the US. Through this relationship and many conversations between herself, Core Health & Fitness, Nustep, and her Personal Training and Programs Directors Key and Mo respectively, a highly competitive package for sweeping change of fitness equipment in the fitness center as well as updated dumbbells and other equipment throughout the facility was recognized. The board of directors for the Y voted to ratify the purchase decision in their September 2022 meeting.
From the onset of CEO Stephanie Cooper’s employment as the leader of the organization, she has faced many challenges in evolving with a changing community and membership base. One of the constant challenges has been keeping our facility competitive and relevant. With fitness being a huge part of her own life, she knew very early on that the facilities and equipment would need to be improved for long-term viability of growing membership and meeting member and program needs.
“Stephanie and her team believe in the future of this center for our community, and have done everything in their power to make this entire vision possible. A year ago, we couldn’t have imagined being in a position to be able to offer this update to our members, but now, with a strong supporting plan to drive revenue and updated program offerings, our vision is coming to life,” mentioned Pat Day, board president.
If you would be interested in purchasing used equipment or know someone who might be interested, the Y will be advertising the inventory of available items in the coming weeks and months. All equipment will need to be removed from the facility the week prior to the new equipment’s installation. Please continue to look for announcements coming through social media, email newsletters, and local news organizations for your chance to purchase.
