Camp Cullom Chili Dinner and Open House Success

Camp Cullom is owned by the children of Clinton County.  Each year near the peak of the beautiful autumn season and generally optimal astronomical viewing, the 90 acre Camp holds an Open House and Chili Dinner for the public.

Trails are open while visitors enjoy the disc golf course, prairie grass habitat, observatory, lodge and a chance to meet the Camp Cullom Board of Directors.

This year a Disc Golf tournament was added to the special day.  Camp Cullom has a popular course taking  players through woods and up and down hills and across streams.  The disc golf course at Camp Cullom is gaining a reputation for being one of the better courses in the Greater Lafayette area and even the state.

The Prairie Grass astronomical observatory at Camp Cullom would have been open for the final celestial viewing night of the year. Unfortunately clouds blocked the viewing altogether.  Russ Kaspar gave a tour of the Observatory, opened up the meteorite collection and demonstrated the opening of the observatory roof to reveal the telescope opening up to the entire sky.

Camp Cullom is a 501 C-3 non-profit Corporation and serves 15,000 to 25,000 people per year.  Camp Cullom is funded by the United Way for Clinton County.
