The window for Declarations of Candidacy for the Frankfort City Council At-large seat have closed, and the caucus to decide the newest member of the council will be held on Saturday.
The Clinton County Republican Committee will hold a caucus this Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. in the Frankfort City Council Chambers at Old Stoney at 301 E. Clinton St. in Frankfort to select the newest at-large councilmember to replace Megan Sheets upon her retirement.
Clinton County GOP Chairman Jim Moyer announced on June 3 that a caucus will be held on June 22 to select the new city councilmember to fill the at-large seat vacancy after Megan Sheets resigned from the council on May 31.
Declaration of Candidacy forms were accepted through Wednesday, June 19 at 10 a.m., which resulted in the finalization of the ballot this morning. Only Republican Precinct Chairmen in Precincts 1 through 20 and Precinct 39 will vote in the caucus to select the new member.
The Clinton County Clerk’s Office will be notified of the selection from the caucus on Monday, June 24, and the new councilmember will take office on July 1.
According to the filing records from the Clinton County Clerk’s Office, the ballot will include Taylor Crenshaw, Brandt Fuller, Rhonda Light and Stacy Uitts.
