A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of central Indiana from 10 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday.
The watch means flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
According to the National Weather Service, persistent showers and thunderstorms along a boundary overnight could produce narrow areas of 2 to 3 inches of rainfall across central Indiana.
Excessive runoff could result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying or flood-prone areas.
The Flood Watch includes Clinton, Boone, Montgomery, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur and Jennings counties.
Residents in flood-prone areas should monitor weather conditions and be prepared for possible flooding overnight and Friday morning.
