CORE Community Center Addresses Closure, Explains Refunds, Reassures Vendors, Discusses Child Care

Following the announcement of the closure of CORE Community Center in Frankfort, the organization released a message to the public regarding refunds, vendor payments and child care.

CORE announced the indefinite suspension of its operations effective Monday, March 10, excluding its child care services, due to insurmountable financial challenges following a difficult decision that followed exhaustive efforts to secure funding and stabilize the organization.

CORE stated that due to partnerships with United Way for Clinton County and St. Matthew Preschool, the CORE Early Learning will continue to service until the opening of the second preschool location in June.

CORE released that due to the severe financial circumstances that led to the closure, the organization is unable to process refunds at this time as there are no funds to return. Furthermore, CORE released that all outstanding payments for vendors will be honored.

“We recognize the importance of fulfilling our financial obligations and appreciate your patience during this challenging transitional period,” the organization released. “Regardless of any potential future transfer of ownership or liquidation processes, all vendors will receive the payments owed to them.”

CORE released a final statement addressed to the community it served.

“We recognize the emotional toll this closure takes on our community,” CORE released. “We are committed to transparency and will provide updates as they become available. We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our members, vendors and the community at large during this difficult time.”
