St. Matthew United Methodist Church has announced that with CORE Community Center’s closure on Monday, March 10 and the plan to close the Child Care Center on Friday, March 14, the church, St. Matthew Preschool, Clinton County Community Foundation and the United Way for Clinton County have launched plans to maintain the childcare options at CORE through June.
Following the June closure, St. Matthew Preschool-West campus will be open for childcare needs.
“One of the challenges this community, and many others, face is the lack of childcare,” the church released. “In June, St. Matthew United Methodist Church will open our second preschool, St. Matthew Community Preschool-West Campus, which will allow for an additional 72 children for preschool and all-day care.”
The extension of childcare services at CORE will aid community members in making their transition and decisions for childcare easier in the meantime.
