The Delphi Police Department has announced that it will be expanding the two-hour parking block in preparation of the upcoming trial for Richard Allen scheduled to begin on May 13.
In March, Special Judge Fran Gull granted the defense team’s request to move the murder trial for Richard Allen from October to May. Allen is the man accused of killing teen girls Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi in 2017. According to reports, Gull has blocked off her docket from May 13 through May 31 in preparation for the high-profile case. While jury selection is still slated to occur in Allen County, the chosen jurors and alternates will travel to Carroll County afterward for the trial.
In preparation for the trail, the Delphi Police Department announced that the 2-hour parking sections, which currently span on Main Street between Washington Street and Union Street, will be expanded to compensate for increased traffic and parking issues that may arise in the area.
The 2-hour parking will be enforced in the block between the the two red pins located in the map below. The department stated that Main Street between Washington Street and Wabash Street consists of parallel parking that will be enforced with the 2-hour parking limit beginning April 15.
