The Indiana Young Farmers’ State Convention is on the horizon on Feb. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST.
The Indiana Young Farmers’ Association will host four contests for high school students, particularly those who are Indiana FFA members, including a Farm Business Management contest, Spokesperson for Agriculture contest, Agriculture Expressions Essay contest and a photo contest.
The Farm Business Management contest and Spokesperson for Agriculture contest will occur during the convention. Essays for the Agriculture Expressions Essay contest are due by Feb. 1 to indianayoungfarmers@gmail.com. Photos for the photo contest will need to be submitted at check-in.
The convention will also host a tour of the Fair Oaks Dairy, Pig and Crop Adventure as well as a leadership seminar.
Registration will be $50 for the contest, two tours, leadership seminar and lunch or $110 for an added dinner.
The Spokesperson and essay contest winners will each receive $100 and an additional $300 to attend the National Young Farmer’s Educational Association National Institute in December in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
