Clinton County, along with Boone County and Carroll County communities can all roll forward with road and bridge projects thanks to a recent boost in state funding supported by State Reps. Mark Genda (R-Frankfort) and Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo).
A total of 252 communities across the state will receive over $207 million through Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program. Funds can be used for road and bridge preservation, road reconstruction, intersection improvements and other items.
“This program is a perfect example of the state and our local communities working together to help Hoosiers,” Genda said. “These substantial investments will strengthen our network of roads and accelerate economic growth.”
Area grant recipients include Clinton County ($934,396.31), Colfax ($88,486.50) and Frankfort ($318,441.45).
Boone County
Area grant recipients include Boone County ($556,005), Lebanon ($639,653.00) and Zionsville ($675,032).

Carroll County
Area grant recipients include Carroll County ($1.363,237.50) and Flora ($351,894.37).
“Whether traveling in town or across the state, we depend on safe roads,” VanNatter said. “For local communities, these grants can be key to making local infrastructure improvements, which also helps promote economic growth and adds to our quality of life.”

Other cities and towns from the area received the following: Delphi ($999,750.00), Kempton ($44.841.43), Kokomo ($1.500,000.00), Lafayette ($1.500,000.00), Monticello (1,038,258.00), Tipton ($1,129,054.36), West Lafayette ($626,603.15), Zionsville ($675,032,25).
Counties that received funds were: Hamilton ($1,500,000.00), Howard ($1,499,350.73), Montgomery ($1.294,465.44), White ($1.500,000.00).
Community Crossings is open to all local government units in the State of Indiana. Match percentages are:
- Cities and towns with a population of fewer than 10,000 will receive funds using a 75/25% match.
- Cities and towns with a population of greater than 10,000 will receive funds using a 50/50% match.
- Counties with a population of fewer than 50,000 people will receive funds using a 75/25% match.
- Counties with a population of greater than 50,000 people will receive funds using a 50/50% match.
