Tegan Walker made history at the CIS Show Arena Friday night by becoming the youngest ever to win the Supreme Showmanship competition at the Clinton County Fair.

Tegan, who is only 10 years old, bested five other individuals to win the event and, in turn, broke his father’s (Troy Walker) record. The elder Walker won the Supreme Showmanship at the age of 13 back in 2000.

“It feels amazing,” said Tegan when asked about how he felt. “I thought I did well in the goats, pigs, cows, llamas. I didn’t my horse to back up in time. Couldn’t get her to pivot. But, I made up for it.”

Tegan qualified for the Supreme Showman by winning the goat competition. He is a two-year 4-H member.

Others in the Showman event were Brooklyn Morris (horse), Gracyn Stevens (swine), Avery Harris (sheep), Jhett Stillwell (beef) and Peyton Webster (llama),

Tegan also made no bones about his next goal — the Indiana State Fair.

“We’re taking every species,” said Tegan. “I had a horse entered in the show. But, there was thunderstorms that day. I don’t think we’re taking her though.”

In the middle of the Showman competition, there was a recognition of the 10-year 4-H members. Those honored were Kaitlyn Beck, Bailey Blacker, Neven Chasteen, Lillian Cline, Katie Dunderman, Demi Freeman, Mariah Gallimore, Avery Harris, Lilly Holston, Owen Kocher, Autum Long, Owen Lucas, Mackenzie Moore, Eddie Roberts, Ethan Rothenberger, Emmeline Seest, Abby Slayton, Makenzee Smith, Julia Stillwell, Conner Tarkington, Alex Taylor, Jenna Yazel, Ethan Walker and Jayden Weber.

For winning, Tegan received a Belt Buckle sponsored by Kory & Brandi Dunn Family, a Banner sponsored by Orem Family and a Chair sponsored by Joe and Jannine Rule and Family.
