Weaver Places Third At Ironman Wrestling Tournament

Rossville’s Noah Weaver participated in the Ironman Wrestling tournament in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on Friday and Saturday.

The tournament is one of the most competitive in-season tournaments, bringing in top wrestlers from around the country to participate.

Crown Point, Brownsburg, Warren Central, Purdue Polytechnic, and Mater Dei were among the other schools representing the Hoosier state at the tournament.

Weaver wrestled in the 215 lbs. weight class and was seeded third.

In the first round, Weaver defeated Connor Gillahan from Bethlehem Catholic in Pennsylvania

Weaver took down Foley Calcagno from IC Catholic Prep in Illinois in round two.

In the quarterfinal, Weaver faced the sixth-seeded Jason Singer from Faith Christian Academy in Pennsylvania and won by decision 3-0.

In the semifinal, Weaver matched up with the second-seeded Cade Ziola of Skutt Catholic in Nebraska and lost 17-2 TF 5:26.

Weaver defeated the number four seed Landon Jobber-Spence from Staunton River in Virginia to take third place.

The Rossville wrestling team will be back in action on Wednesday against Lebanon.
