Walk & Roll To School Day Sets Off Tomorrow For Frankfort Schools

Walk and Roll to School Day is set for tomorrow, Oct. 2 for the Frankfort elementary schools for students to join together with members of Healthy Communities of Clinton County, the Clinton County Health Department and other local leaders to travel to school in style.

Children and adults around the world will celebrate the benefits of walking and bicycling as they head to school with morning exercise tomorrow, and students that walk or bike to school tomorrow will receive a free prize from Healthy Communities and the Health Department.

For the walking school buses to Blue Ridge Primary School and Green Meadows Intermediate School, students may gather at the northwest corner on the fairgrounds across from the gas station or at 1458 Oaks St. office building next to the hospital at 7:40 a.m. to walk in a supervised walking school bus.

For the walking school buses to Suncrest Elementary School, students may gather at Fire Station #3 at 1400 W. Barner St., Circle Park or at Roadhouse 39 sidewalk at 1601 Rossville Ave. at 7:40 a.m. to participate.

This year will see the students accompanied by school administration, teachers, Frankfort Police officers and Mayor Judy Sheets as they partake in their walking school buses to start their day in a healthy way.
