Voter Turnout in Clinton County Already Exceeds Entire Primary Vote Count

Twenty days remain until Election Day. In Clinton County the total number of votes cast as of 3:45 PM October 16 has already exceeded the entire vote count for the Primary Election in Clinton County, according to a poll worker at the Clinton County Court House.

This information conforms with Clinton County Republican Party Chairman Jim Moyer’s understanding the “state-wide voting has been very high.”  Party officials have been encouraging voters to cast their vote early this year and “it appears this is happening,” said Moyer. “Also, some voters have decided they did not want to go through the long lines we have had in the past on Election Day.”

This reporter voted today at the Clinton County Courthouse Commissioner’s room and arrived to find about 6 people in line. The line moved quickly with aid of an adequate number of poll workers and voting machines.
