On June 16, 2025, an autopsy was performed by a forensic pathologist at the Howard County Coroner’s Office on the victim shot on June 14, 2025. The preliminary cause of death is consistent with a gunshot wound to the torso. Final determination is pending forensic toxicology and lab results.
The victim has been identified as 17-year-old, Aveon Rocquez Rice of Kokomo.
This case is an ongoing investigation by the Kokomo Police Department and the Howard County Coroner’s Office.
