The United Way for Clinton County has announced that the community National Night Out at Prairie Creek Park event is slated for tomorrow, Aug. 6 for community members to bond together, build relationships with local law enforcement and receive necessary supplies for the back-to-school season.
The Clinton County community has been invited to attend the National Night Out event tomorrow, Aug. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Prairie Creek Park where United Way for Clinton County, Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition and Center Township of Clinton County will be distributing 600 backpacks filled with school supplies to the students of Clinton County.
The United Way expressed that the community is essential in the success of the initiative, stating that from July 10 through Aug. 1, school supplies may be dropped off at the Center Township of Clinton County office at 250 Alhambra Ave. in Frankfort to help fill the backpacks with learning essentials.
“Volunteers are also crucial on Aug. 6 to lend a hand in packing these backpacks with care,” the organization released. “Let’s come together to support the bright minds of tomorrow.”
All of the backpacks will be put together on Aug. 6 from 9:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. at the Prairie Creek Park Event Center, and volunteers for the operation may contact United Way Executive Director Anita Stewart at astewart@uwclintoncounty.org.
