The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department congratulated two officers on their successful graduation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Friday evening as they continue their dedication to the Whitestown community early into their careers.
Officers Tyke Cockerham and Joey Crider were celebrated on Friday evening following their graduation from the 16-week Indiana Law Enforcement Academy where they studied and were tested on various topics in the field of law enforcement, including criminal law, traffic law, firearms, emergency vehicle operation, defensive tactics, strategies and tactics of patrol stops, active shooter, standard field sobriety tests, report writing and more.
“We are extremely proud of Officer Cockerham and Officer Crider for successfully completing the Basic Academy and are excited to get them back at WMPD and in the field,” the department released. “This is just one major accomplishment in these officers’ early career, and we anticipate many more in the years to come.”
