Suncrest Elementary School announced two retirees from the Community Schools of Frankfort who touched the lives of numerous children within the community.

Suncrest announced that Mrs. Vickie Vestey and Mrs. Rhonda Rudd retired at the conclusion of the school year amongst a bittersweet celebration that culminated in the sharing of various stories and anecdotes regarding their careers with the school.

Vestey and Rudd were presented with plaques from the Community Schools of Frankfort for their years of service, which read “Never underestimate the difference you made and the lives you touched,” concluding with a sentiment wishing both teachers a successful and relaxing retirement. Suncrest also released memories of the two teachers and sentiments as they prepare to embark on the journey of retirement.

Suncrest Sentiment For Mrs. Vickie Vestey:

Mrs. Vestey is one of our Suncrest retirees! It feels like she’s been one of our favorite first grade teachers for a long time. Upon retiring, she will have completed 25 years in the classroom!

One of the special things we’ll miss about Mrs. Vestey is hearing her read aloud to her students. She had a way of making a book come to life and she most definitely instilled a love of reading into all of the students that had the privilege to be in her classroom.

Our students loved being in Mrs. Vestey’s room and she will be missed by all of us. She taught her students responsibility, to believe in themselves, and loved them. Thanks for all you’ve done Mrs. Vestey. Enjoy your retirement.

Suncrest Sentiment For Mrs. Rhonda Rudd:

Mrs. Rudd is also one of our Suncrest retirees this year and she will be missed so much! Upon retiring she will have completed 23 years of teaching! From her room transformations to her never-ending patience and love, Mrs. Rudd was a favorite.

She not only was an amazing teacher, but she prepared our students for life–teaching them organization, responsibility, and citizenship.

Mrs. Rudd’s sweet smile will be missed next year and we hope she enjoys her retirement and some time with her grandchildren. Thanks for all you did for our Suncrest Eagles–we will miss you
