The Tippecanoe County Historical Association will host a Grand View Cemetery Tour this Saturday, Oct. 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grand View Cemetery at 1510 N. Salisbury St. in West Lafayette in partnership with the West Lafayette Public Library.
Organized in 1902, Grand View Cemetery was meant to be a quiet, beautiful resting place. Over one hundred years later, Grand View is the final resting place of 4,600+ people and the stories to be shared are endless. Come learn more about this historic cemetery and some of the early Tippecanoe County residents buried there.
The tour will be self-guided, and attendees may receive a map near the entrance to the cemetery. Volunteers will be positioned throughout the grounds for attendees to learn more about select burials at Grand View.
Limited parking will be available within the cemetery along the edges of the gravel driveways. Handicapped parking will be available near the Caretakers Cottage. Additional parking will be available at the West Lafayette Community School Corporation administration building at 1130 N. Salisbury St.
