Strong storms moved through Clinton County Tuesday night, causing damage in portions of the county, particularly in the Antioch area.
According to the Clinton County Emergency Management Agency, the storms moved through the area at approximately 10:40 p.m. The National Weather Service confirmed that straight-line winds impacted the area.
Reported damage includes:
- Downed utility poles along County Road 100 W
- Damaged utility poles along State Road 39
- A damaged utility pole along County Road 100 E
- Damage to several homes and vehicles in the Antioch area
- Numerous downed trees and power lines
Clinton County EMA personnel assessed the affected areas Tuesday night and returned Wednesday morning to continue documenting the damage.
Local public safety agencies, utility crews and highway personnel have been working to address the damage and restore services.
Residents are urged to use caution in affected areas as cleanup and utility work continues. Never approach or drive over a downed power line, and always treat downed lines as energized.
