Sheree Lynn Ghere

Sheree Lynn Ghere, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 26, 2025 at Wellbrooke of Avon, Indianapolis. She was born on January 25, 1956 in Frankfort, IN to Clifford T. & Shirley A. (Martin) Ghere. Sheree attended Purdue University receiving her B.S. in Pharmacy and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

Sheree had a distinguished 40-year career as a pharmacist at Wishard / Eskanazi Hospital in Indianapolis. She started out as an inpatient night pharmacist before eventually transferring to an outpatient pharmacist position. Within her field, Sheree was never afraid to take on innovative ideas and challenges. She volunteered to establish the first neighborhood (community) pharmacy site for the Wishard/Eskanazi Hospital. The clinic was so successful it became the model for additional community clinics established within the Wishard/Eskanazi Hospital network. Later on, Sheree was appointed as the pharmacist in charge of one of these new clinics, Cottage Corner Clinic, until it closed during the pandemic. Shortly thereafter, she retired in January 2021. In general, the doctors and other medical staff members well respected Sheree. She was known for her attention to detail, establishing effective guardrails to ensure safe medication use, and for her exemplary patient care.

Sheree developed a passion for traveling after going on her first camping trip with her parents and siblings to South Dakota (Badlands, Mount Rushmore) and Wyoming (Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Devils Tower) when she was only 6 years old. These summer vacations across the United States and Canada continued on an annual basis through her college years. These treasured trips consisted of hikes, horseback riding, white water rafting, and sightseeing within state parks, national parks, and national forests as well as visits to various historical sites and museums. Later, Sheree continued traveling with her daughter Kristy and, in many cases, her mother Shirley and sister Cindy in the continental United States as well as Alaska, France, Switzerland, Scotland and Ireland. From all of her travels, Sheree’s favorite destination was the mountains in the western United States often stating she was happiest there.

Sheree loved singing, dancing, and listening to music across many genres. In college, she was an excellent alto singer in the Purdue Musical Organizations University choir. When her daughter Kristy was little, Sheree would often sing to lull her to sleep at night. Kristy, a top-notch singer in her own right, mentioned how she thoroughly enjoyed singing impromptu duets with her mom throughout the years. Sheree was also a regular church goer, establishing many enduring friendships with members of a bible study group at the Kingsway Christian Church. She was a voracious reader, especially of science fiction books, and an avid animal lover. She particularly loved horses, cats, and dogs, but she especially cherished all her “grand-kitties.”

Those left to honor Sheree’s memory are her daughter, Kristy Lynn Anderson Ghere, siblings, Sally A. (Richard) Mohler of Lafayette, Gary T. (Juanita) Ghere of Bettendorf, IA, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Cynthia (Cindy) S. Ghere.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on January 17, 2026 at the Kingsway Christian Church, 7981 E. County Rd. 100 N., Avon, IN  46123. A funeral service at the church will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a 1:30 pm graveside service at Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, IN.
