The Rossville Hornets volleyball team defeated the Clinton Prairie Gophers three sets to one on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Clinton Prairie came out strong, taking the first set 25-23. But the Hornets took the momentum with dominant performances in sets two and three winning them 25-12 and 25-9. The fourth set was back and forth seeing both teams go on runs and hold a lead during the set. Late in the set, the Hornets were able to put it away winning 25-21.
Abbey Swan collected 14 kills, 21 digs and 14 assists in the loss for Clinton Prairie.
Rossville’s Addi Gorbett was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game for her efforts in the win.
Rossville also celebrated their seniors during the match. Aleece Oakes, Berkley Lanum, Kate Meek, Abigail Woollen and Laney Bodine were all acknowledged before the match.
Rossville will host sectionals beginning next week. Clinton Prairie is matched up against Traders Point, while Rossville will take on Clinton Central.
