This past Saturday, the Rossville Singers, a select choir of 6th-8th grade students from Rossville Middle School, represented Rossville Middle/High School at the prestigious “Circle the State with Song” choral festival hosted at Crawfordsville High School.

Eleven Rossville students joined over 200 choral singers from area schools for an exceptional performance featuring a diverse repertoire, including jazz, country and three pieces sung in different languages.

Arriving at the venue around 12:30 p.m., the young vocalists devoted their afternoon to intensive rehearsals, preparing under the guidance of a distinguished clinician, Rossville alumna Abby Pagryzinski (Barnett). Pagryzinski’s expertise, humor and musicianship provided an enriching experience, helping students refine their vocal technique and performance skills.

The festival culminated in a 5:30 p.m. concert that showcased the students’ dedication and musical growth. Rossville’s own Halle Woodruff, who delivered a standout solo performance, was a special highlight of the evening.

Rossville Choir Director Mr. Buck expressed immense pride in his students’ commitment and professionalism. “These students worked incredibly hard to learn challenging music and represented Rossville with outstanding conduct and musical leadership,” said Buck.

Rossville’s participating students were:

  • 8th Grade: Anabel Kreps, Alaina Jamison, Jaz Sloan, Chloe Yeagly
  • 7th Grade: Leila Hosfield, Halle Woodruff
  • 6th Grade: Lexi Hoffman, Kendra Jamison, Elijah Mackey, Grace Padgett, Emma Williams
