The event served as one of the last qualifying tournaments of the season, with teams working through multiple rounds of matches that tested engineering design, strategy, collaboration, and quick problem-solving. With so many teams vying for limited state-final spots, the atmosphere was competitive and energetic from start to finish.
Representing Rossville were two teams:
RES (Team 68988A) competed in a field of 45 teams and finished 35th, earning an average score of 42.83 points per match.
RMHS (Team 68988B) competed against 42 teams and also finished 35th, with an average score of 43.50 points per match.
For most of Rossville’s students, this was their first robotics competition. Competing in a large-scale tournament with teams from across Indiana provided valuable exposure and a meaningful learning opportunity. Throughout the day, both teams demonstrated growth, perseverance, and teamwork as they refined strategies and made adjustments between matches.
While the teams did not advance to the state finals, their performance reflected strong preparation and dedication. Coaches and supporters expressed pride in the students’ efforts, noting that the experience gained from this event will serve as a foundation for continued success in future competitions.
Rossville’s robotics program continues to provide students with hands-on STEM experiences that build technical skills, critical thinking, and collaboration — qualities that extend far beyond the competition floor.
The Hornets return home proud of their efforts and are already looking ahead to next season with renewed determination.
