Rossville and Carroll Split Doubleheader

The Hoosierland TV Games of the Week did not disappoint on Friday.

In game one, the Lady Hornets and Lady Cougars battled it out for 32 minutes. The lead changed hands five times and saw the Cougars lead 23-21 after three quarters.

Rossville’s Allie Elliot hit a pair of big shots in the fourth quarter to give the Hornets the lead. With five seconds left, Rossville held a three-point margin. The Cougars got the ball to Emily Justice for a chance to tie but she had her shot blocked by Ava Burkle.

The Hornets took the win 36-33. Elliot was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game with nine points and nine rebounds. Burkle finished with nine points and four blocks.

In the nightcap, the Rossville varsity boys surged to a 16-5 advantage after the first quarter.

Carroll settled in after the first frame, outscoring the Hornets 17-12 in the second and 20-12 in the third to take a two-point lead into the fourth.

Aiden Duff and Eli Falkenberg found their rhythm in the second half. Duff looked unstoppable and finished with a game-high 25 points, with 16 coming in the second half.

The Cougars finished strong and won the game 62-52. Duff was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game.

Eli Falkenberg finished with 14 for the Cougars. Jordan Skiles had a team-high 14 for Rossville. Cooper Dunne finished with 11 and Brayden Thiele-Hahn scored 12.
