Richard Dale Smart, 64, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away September 3, 2023 in his home. He was born on January 18, 1959 in Frankfort to John and Mable (Hall) Smart. He married Ruth Ann Moore on July 4, 1981 and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2023.
A lifelong Frankfort resident, Richard attended Frankfort Schools and served in the United States Army. He was a forklift driver for Ryder in Frankfort and had also done concrete work. He loved working on cars and building derby cars and enjoyed coin collecting and playing video games.
Surviving are his Daughter: Natasha Stoker of Frankfort; Sons: Randy (Michelle) Wells of Frankfort and David (Tricia) Wells of Indianapolis; Siblings: Theresa Smart of Lafayette, Mike Smart of Florida, and Janelle Smart of Lafayette; and Grandchildren: Jordan Perinne, Cody and Emily Laughner, Averi and Oliver Wells, and Gregory Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Ruth Ann Smart, daughter: Mellissa Smart, and granddaughter: Kylie Wells.
