Reese East

Reese Josey Von East, 16, of Rossville, was welcomed by the angels to his heavenly home Monday, June 24, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital.  He was born August 3, 2007, in Lafayette to Tyrel East and Gloria (Prass) East.

Reese was a very caring and thoughtful young man.  He was full of life and had a huge heart.  He loved his family and friends and wanted to take care of those he cared about.  He had aspirations of being an entrepreneur and starting his own business so he could take care of his whole family.  Reese wore his heart on his sleeve and wanted to make others happy and be happy.  He enjoyed playing Xbox and hanging with friends, cooking especially chicken, singing and making YouTube videos, listening to rap music and Christian music.  He will be missed by those that knew him and the world is not as bright without him.

He is survived by his parents; siblings, Dylan East, Alanis East, Tyler East and Tarrin East; grandmother, Darleen East; Uncles, Daniel (Carol) Prass, Arthur Prass, Samuel Prass, Taggart (Trudy) East, Talon East;  Aunt Tanya (Scott) Schimmel; cousins, Quentin Grice, Hunter Grice, and Amya Brown and nieces, Avery Brinson, Eva East, and Harper East.

He was preceded in death by grandparents; Chuck and Marci Prass and David East.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024; from 1pm until the time of the service at 4pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville Funeral.  Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. The family is asking that memorial contributions be made in Reese’s honor to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.

The family would like to thank everyone for their support and care during this difficult time.  The heartfelt our pouring has touched their hearts and moved them.  The simple words of “Thank you” is not enough to show how much they appreciate the kind acts and love shown.  But, from the bottom of their hearts, Thank you for all that has been done.
