Jodie Schmitt joined Purdue Extension of Howard County in April. Schmitt is the 4-H and Youth Development Educator. Born and raised in Miami County, Schmitt has resided in Howard County for over 15 years. She is excited to serve and promote the Howard County 4-H program. The 4-H program currently reaches nearly 500 families, with a wide range of projects available for youth in Kindergarten through grade 12. As the 4-H and Youth Development Educator, Schmitt will also offer activities and programs on a variety of topics throughout the county during the entire year.
Schmitt has worked in K-12 education across the country in various roles including educator, project manager, trainer, and volunteer. She most recently served as Program Coordinator at a local church. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and a Master’s degree from George Washington University in Project Management.
