The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that maintenance crews will be conducting seal coating operations on State Road 218 beginning next week that will result in portions of the road being closed for a short period of time.
The crews are expected to enact a short-term closure on State Road 218 between State Road 25 and State Road 75 during the daytime work hours for approximately two days beginning on or after Monday, Aug. 19.
The department stated that through traffic should utilize the detour of State Road 25, U.S. 421, State Road 18 and State Road 75 or seek an alternate route. Local traffic has been encouraged to exercise caution in the area and follow traffic directions in the work zone.
The department expects the road to be reopened by Thursday, Aug. 22, which is dependent on weather with a schedule subject to change.
