Pastor Charles “Chuck” Williams, Jr., of Rossville, formerly of Frankfort, graduated to glory on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 23, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Charles and Gloria (Musser) Williams. He married Marilyn Reynolds on June 17, 1972, and she survives.
Chuck was a graduate of a Belleville Township High School East in Belleville, Illinois. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, and then a Master of Divinity, from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the United States Air Force. Chuck served in ministry in some capacity for over 50 years at several churches in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan, most recently at First Baptist Church in Frankfort. He loved being in God’s word, leading and sharing Bible studies with youth groups, camps, and churches.
Chuck enjoyed watching and coaching sports. He played on many church softball and bowling teams. He was an avid fan of the Fighting Illini. He loved his Lord and family and was often found at sporting events of his children and grandchildren, and cherished his vacations with his wife and family. Chuck will be remembered for his great sense of humor, quick wit, and the joy and love that he shared with others. His adventurous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand will be missed.
Along with his wife of nearly 53 years, Chuck is survived by his children, Shari (Steve) Hartman, Wendi Brown, Doug (Stephanie) Williams; siblings, David Williams, Patty (Richard) VanderVeen; grandchildren, Zachary, Harmony (Jacob), Gabriel, Katherine, Andrew, Emma, Sarah (Garret), Seth (Amanda), Suzanna, Solomon, Sylvia, and Sammy; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Michael Williams, sister-in-law, Pamela Williams; and an infant grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held, 10am Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Rossville Presbyterian Church. Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.
