Ole Hickory Days Festival Getting Ready for This Friday and Saturday

The Town of Colfax is getting ready for its Ole Hickory Day Festival slated for Friday, August 2, and Saturday, August 3.

The town has released parking instructions for cars parked in the downtown area ahead of the festival. Starting today (Wednesday), all cars parked on Main Street from Columbia State to Meridian Street must be moved by morning for the town employees to clean Main Street before the festival.

On Thursday morning, all vehicles must be removed from the town lot at the corner of Main Street and Oakland Street for festival setup, and all cars must be removed from Columbia Street to Meridian Street for festival setup.

The town said that vehicles not removed by 5 p.m. Thursday will be subject to tow at the owners expense.

4-9 p.m. — Vendors Open on Main Street

5-8 p.m. — Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry at the Firehouse

5-7 p.m. — Cornfields and Crossroads in front of the Firehouse

6 p.m.– Opening Ceremony, National Anthem on Main Stage

6:15 p.m. — Mr. & Mrs. Hickory. Hickory Kids Pageant; Community Service Award on Main Stage

7-10 p.m. — The Jacks

Saturday, August 3

7:30 a.m. — Pancake Breakfast at Colfax Christian Church

9 a.m. to 9 p.m. — Vendors Open on Main Street

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Hickory Show “N’ Shine at Elevator Parking Lot

10 a.m. — Kasey The Fire Dog at the Firehouse

1 p.m. — Parade Registration

2 p.m. — Parade Start at the Park

3 p.m. — Cake Walk on Main Stage

3:30 p.m. — Pie Eating Contest on Main Stage

3-5 p.m. — Foam-O-Fun in front of the Firehouse

4 p.m. — Hula Hoop, Jump Rope & Limbo Contest on Main Stage

5 p.m. — Hickory Show ‘N’ Shine Awards on Main Stage

5:30 p.m. — Pizza Eating Contest on Main Stage

6 p.m. — Gates Open for Truck & Tractor Pull at Lions Club Park

7 p.m.. — Trucks & Tractor Pull at Lions Club Park
