The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for today, Wednesday, Feb. 19 as forecasts show possibilities of snow and sub-zero wind chills in the region overnight.
The service released that a possibility remains of snow along with sub-zero wind chills this evening into the overnight hours, and light snow is expected to begin late into the evening and continue into Thursday morning. Snow accumulations of up to 1.5 inches are expected by Thursday morning, according to the service.
With temperatures well bellow freezing, untreated roadways, bridges and overpasses are expected to become slick and partially snow covered. As well, wind chill values may be as low as zero to -10 degrees tonight into early tomorrow morning. The coldest wind chills will be in the upper portion of the region.
