Michael “Mike” G. Mooney

Michael “Mike” G. Mooney, 65, of Logansport, formerly of Frankfort,Indiana, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home.  He was born December 8, 1958, in Trenton, Tennessee to Marvin and Carolyn (Campbell) Mooney.

Mike graduated from Warren Central High School, Class of 1977.  He then served his country with honor in the United States Air Force.  Following his service, he built a career at Subaru of Indiana Automotive and later enjoyed fulfilling retirement.  Along with his wife Kim, Mike was a partner in a rental business that reflected his work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

He was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts and especially loved watching college basketball, always cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers.  Mike also had a deep love for camping and spending time at France Park with his wife, Kim.  One of his favorite places was Lake Cumberland, where he loved boating and swimming with his family.  He found joy in life’s simple pleasures; whether playing pool, traveling in his RV, listening and dancing to music, or reading a good book, especially Stephen King.  He brought laughter and light to every room, always sharing his warmth and humor with those around him.  Mike’s dedication to his family was boundless, and he loved his children, grandchildren, and wife with his whole heart.

Mike is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kimberly (Fisher) Mooney, who he married on September 19, 2008.  He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn; children, Daniel Mooney, Bayli (Carter) Llewellyn, Brandy (Emily) Komos, Keva Mooney, Jade Mooney; bonus son, Ross Fisher; siblings, Ronald (Connie) Mooney, Terry (Bernie) Mooney, Tammy Long, Carrie Lynn Mooney; and grandchildren, Lola Fisher, Amelia Llewellyn, Judah Llewellyn, and Nora Komos.

He was preceded by his father, Marvin G. Mooney; and a brother, Joel K. Mooney.

Visitation and the service will be held, Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, on Saturday, November 23, 2024.  Visitation hours will be from 11:30am to 1:30pm, service beginning at 1:30pm. with the Memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s honor to Clinton County Humane Society.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
