Luz Escalona Kelly, 89, of Frankfort, passed away December 24, 2025 at Wesley Manor. She was born on July 6, 1936 in the Philippines to Benigno Baoy & Geneviva Baoy. She married Lawrence E. Kelly from Kirklin.
Luz attended school in the Philippines and worked for Uni Electric and Zachary’s in Frankfort and later retired from Federal Mogul. She was an avid football fan and had enjoyed being a Frankfort Hot Dog team mother. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, babysitting, traveling, and sewing, but especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Jerry (Cindy) Kelly, Casey Kelly, Waylon (Robin) Kelly, and Rich (Ashley) Kelly all of Frankfort, along with 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, and a grandson: Jarrid Allan Kelly.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Scotland Cemetery, Kirklin.
