The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra continues its 2025-26 B-Side Series this week with Track 3: Jazz in the Wake of Bebop. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at the Rat Pak Venue in downtown Lafayette. The evening features LSO musician Drew Cox on drums with fellow musicians Brent Laidler (guitar), Scott Pazera (bass), and Jarrard Harris (saxophone) sharing tunes that display how Bebop’s brief but bold legacy opened the door to new sounds shaped by gospel, classical, and global influences.
The B-Side Series offers a relaxed vibe, one-hour performances, a cash bar, and general admission seating. The series is designed to showcase the creative versatility of LSO musicians in a more intimate venue than the traditional concert hall. All ages are welcome. Tickets are $20 general admission and can be purchased at lafayettesymphony.org or by calling 765-742-6463 or at the door. Doors and box office open at 6:30 p.m.
