On October 23, 2025, two local firefighters were dispatched to an emergency call involving a potential childbirth situation. Upon arrival, the firefighters quickly assessed the scene and began providing care until additional medical support arrived.
The Clinton County EMS (CCEMS) team arrived shortly thereafter, and together with the firefighters, assisted in the successful delivery of a baby.
In recognition of their actions, firefighters Griffin Harris and Eddie Morales were presented with the Stork Award through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Governor’s Office. The award honors first responders who play a role in safely delivering a child during emergency situations.
Congratulations are extended to Harris and Morales for their professionalism, quick response, and dedication to service. Their exemplary actions are greatly appreciated.
Additional appreciation is also extended to the EMS Division Captain, whose efforts ensured these individuals received the proper recognition for their outstanding work.
