Lillian P. Ley, 89, of Frankfort passed away August 16, 2026 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center in Mulberry, Indiana, surrounded by her family.  She was born September 27, 1936 in Morris, Indiana to Peter V. and Laurina (Gauck) Schneider.  She married Richard H. Ley on April 4, 1959 at St. Anthony Church in Morris, Indiana and he survives.

Lillian was a graduate of Batesville High School in 1954.  Lillian’s first job was a teller at First National Bank in Batesville.  She also worked at Empire Gas in Greensburg, IN and at the Lafayette National Bank for a time.  Lillian was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and in her spare time she crocheted, enjoyed camping, and spending time with family.  After retiring from work, Lillian and Dick traveled in their motorhome for ten years, selling advertisements along the way in the campgrounds they frequented.

Surviving are: her husband, Dick; her daughters, Brenda (Bill) Steiner of Frankfort, Carol (Bob) Baker of Mulberry, Linda (Jeff) Pearson of Kirklin; her sons, Rick (Alisa Morehouse) Ley of Westpoint, IN, Dave (Diane) Ley of Palmyra, IN; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Amrhein of Brookville, IN, Laurina Schneider of Oldenburg, IN; brothers, Quirin Schneider of Jacksonville, Florida, Paul Schneider of Wooster, OH, and sister-in-law, Betty Burkhart of Greensburg, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Laurina Schneider; sisters, Helen Grover, Alberta Amrhein, Alvina Flaspohler ; and brothers, Lawrence Schneider, Herbie Schneider, Earl Schneider, and Peter Schneider.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mulberry Health and Retirement Center for their loving care of Lillian.

Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 20 at Goodwin Funeral Home.  A Rosary Service will precede the visitation at 3:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 St. Mary’s Ave, Frankfort, IN with Father Paul Cochran officiating.  Friends and family may visit from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Fair Haven Cemetery, Mulberry, IN.  Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the Ley family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KLD Alzheimer’s Foundation,  133 N. 4th St., Suite 211, Lafayette, IN  47901 or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com where you may leave a condolence with the family.
