The Lebanon Police Department welcomed three new police officers onto the force Tuesday night after a swearing-in ceremony during the Lebanon City Council meeting.
Lebanon Police Department Chief introduced three new police officers to the Lebanon community with local ties and a dedication to keep the community safe. Morgan commented that the dedication of the officers draws from their roots within the city.
“All three of these guys are local,” Morgan said. “They grew up here, and they wanted to come back and serve their community and protect it.”
The swearing-in ceremony began with the introduction of Officer Kaleb McCloskey and his family as McCloskey stood to take the oath administered by Mayor Matt Gentry. McCloskey extended his gratitude to the city officials alongside his wife who he expressed was a driving force in his ability to achieve his success.
“I just want to say thank you to the City of Lebanon and the Lebanon Police Department for this opportunity,” McCloskey said. “Secondly, I want to thank my wife. She’s sacrificed so much for me to be here. She’s been by my side throughout this whole process. She sat at home 16 long weeks with three toddlers under four years old.”
Following McCloskey’s swearing-in, Officer Parker Newman was invited to stand before the city and take his oath as a police officer. Newman extended his gratitude toward the city officials and his family while expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to live his dream as a Lebanon Police Officer.
“I’d like to thank everyone here, Mayor Gentry, Lebanon Police Department,” Newman said. “It’s been a dream of mine since I was growing up, going through high school as part of explorer program. I’d like to thank my family for supporting me through everything.”
Officer Cody Hollingsworth rounded out the swearing-in ceremony as he became the third new member of the Lebanon Police Department. Hollingsworth expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community that raised him.
“I would just like to think the Mayor, the City of Lebanon and the Lebanon Police Department as well,” Hollingsworth said. “This is where I grew up like it was stated before. It is the place that I call home, and I am very proud to serve this community.”
The three officers were officially sworn in and will serve the community at the Lebanon Police Department as the newest recruits.
