A mobile home fire that occurred Thursday, March 28 evening remains under investigation after fire crews could not locate residents inside the trailer or immediately locate the cause.

On Thursday evening just before 6 p.m., Lebanon Fire Department crews were dispatched to 441 W. Elm St. Lot 25 to respond to reports of a mobile home fire. Lebanon Police Department officers arrived on the scene and forced entry into the home to check for residents trapped inside the building, but no residents were located.
Battalion 201 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire at the rear of the residence, and crews reportedly began searching the building again for residents while the fire was extinguished. However, no residents were located, but a dog was discovered and removed from the structure without incident and without injury.
Crews reportedly overhauled the structure to confirm the fire had not begun to spread to the neighboring trailer, which reportedly sustained damage as a result of the initial fire. Battalion 201 assigned a fire investigator to the incident to investigate the orgin and cause of the fire, and the fire remains under investigation.
The Salavation Army was reportedly requested and responded to the scene for victim assistance. The Lebanon Fire Department was assisted in the incident by Lebanon Police Department, Boone County EMS, Whitestown Fire Department, Center Township Fire Department and the Salvation Army.
