Lebanon Middle School Names New Assistant Principal

The Lebanon Community School Corporation announced a new assistant principal for Lebanon Middle School, whose hiring was unanimously approved by the school board on June 17.

The corporation announced that Mrs. Lauren Huff will assume the role of assistant principal at Lebanon Middle School, bringing hometown and corporation knowledge to the position through her experiences as a Lebanon Tiger alumnus. Following her graduation from Lebanon High School, Huff pursued her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in match from IUPUI before earning her master’s degree in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision from Western Governors University.

Huff joined Lebanon Middle School as a sixth-grade science teacher in 2021 after teaching first and second grades at Thorntown Elementary School. Huff utilized her talents to quickly become involved in leadership roles, such as contributing to numerous Professional Learning Communities.

Huff expressed that her goals as the new assistant principal at Lebanon Middle School are to empower the educational community within the school and provide the students and staff with the educational opportunities and resources necessary for their success.

“As the new assistant principal at LMS, I am committed to empowering our educational community by cultivating strong relationships and fostering an environment of collaboration and trust,” Huff said. “My student-centered approach, combined with high expectations, will drive my efforts in working with both students and staff to ensure a supportive and thriving educational experience for all.”

The leadership team at Lebanon Middle School now includes Principal Doyle Dunshee and Assistant Principals Mark Butler, Jim McCune and Lauren Huff. The team has set forth a mission to continue creating a supportive and dynamic educational environment for all students and staff. Dunshee expressed her enthusiasm at the announcement of Huff’s new position.

“Lauren will bring to the admin team the excellent work ethic and passion for student achievement that has has demonstrated in the classroom here at LMS,” Dunshee said. “Her energy and enthusiasm for learning will be the hallmark of her new beginning as an assistant principal. She cares for students and wants to connect with families to foster an environment of success and collaboration. We have hit the ground running, and Lauren is blending in seamlessly with the team to move us forward to a new best at LMS.”

Huff expressed that outside of the educational sphere, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Steven, and their two sons, Lawson, 5, and Burton, 3, with camping during the summer and annual Disney World trips being some of the activities that the entire family looks forward to every year. Huff also enjoys gardening, reading and watching the Colts games with her husband outside of the summer months.
