Lebanon Lady Tigers Secure Sagamore Conference Championship Title; Lamerson Shatters 800-Meter Record

The Lebanon High School Lady Tigers track and field secured the Sagamore Conference Championship title while one of the Lady Tigers shattered a record while racing to first in multiple events.

The Tigers track and field teams ran in the Sagamore Conference meet hosted by Tri-West to grand success as the Lady Tigers brought home the Championship Title while the Tigers came second just behind Danville.

The Lady Tigers secured first with 157 points, followed by Crawfordsville with 142, Western Boone with 74.5, Danville with 71, Tri-West with 70, North Montgomery with 54, Southmont with 33 and Frankfort with 18.5.

The Tigers secured second with 137.50 points, only beat by Danville with 150 points, and followed by Southmont with 89, Crawfordsville with 76.5, Tri-West with 65, North Montgomery with 48, Western Boone with 30 and Frankfort with 28.

During the meet, Lady Tiger Penny Lamerson smoked the previous 800-meter run record with a time of 2:24.70, taking first place and establishing herself as the new record holder. Lamerson also secured first in the 1600-meter run and the 3,200 meter run, securing her position as 1st Team All-Conference.

A few other Tigers and Lady Tigers established themselves as 1st Team All-Conference, including Harper Adams, Sarah Keith, Sophie Kyker and Nadia Jones for the 4×800-meter relay, Ciarra Hiatt for pole vault, Kaden Lark for high jump, Jeremiah Hoaward, Cisco Luyindula, Kaden Lark and Trey Ries for 4×100-meter relay and Mason Crew for discus.

An array of Lebanon Tigers and Lady Tigers established themselves as 2nd Team All-Conference, including Claire Boling for high jump and the 200-meter dash, Nadia Jones for the 800-meter run, Sarah Keith for the 3,200-meter run, Soteria Udu for shot put, Jocelyn Butler for pole vault, Kaden Lark for long jump, Tyler Meyer for the 800-meter run, Trey Ries for the 200-meter dash and Daniel Richards for the 300-meter hurdles.
