Larry Thomas Williams

Larry Thomas Williams, 73, Frankfort, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born October 26, 1949, in Eau Claire, WI to Lloyd and Marilyn Williams.  He married Jean Badger on June 10, 1972, in Frankfort and she survives.

Larry was a 1967 graduate from Madison (IN) High School and then served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973.  During his time in the Navy, he served on the USS Independence CVA-62 as a Catapult Specialist (#1) which is considered one of the more dangerous jobs on a Navy warship.  Larry had fond memories of being a sailor and would like to recognize his Navy brothers Tony Lema, Ray Monohan, Tim Park, and Steve Salerno for their lifelong friendship.  He worked for ALCOA in Lafayette for 36 years as a press operator and retired in 2009.  He was a member at Faith Church in Lafayette.  In his spare time he enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Indiana Hoosiers, and St. Louis Cardinals, along with spending evenings on his front porch and cooking dinner for his family.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and worked hard to provide for his family.

Along with his wife of 51 years, Larry is survived by his children, Jenny (Mark) Robbins of Lafayette, Jason Williams of Frankfort, Jeff (Shari) Williams of Frankfort and Janelle (Craig) Demaree of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Cameron and Carleigh Williams, Grant and Alexis Demaree, and Olivia Robbins; brother, Dave Williams of Frankfort; and sister, Denise (Rob) Middleton of Hemet, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Parker William Demaree; and sister, Linda Dow.
